The submarine cable that winds its way from the North Sea to the Weizhou Island quietly traverses over coral reefs and marine protected areas, breaking the long-standing situation where the core materials of high-voltage submarine cables were largely dependent on imports. An experienced veteran in the industry sighed: "Previously, we were most afraid of foreign supply cuts or sky-high price hikes. During negotiations, we couldn't even hold our backs straight. Now it's different. We finally have our own trump card in hand."

Anyone who is knowledgeable understands that for offshore wind power to achieve efficient grid connection, submarine cables are an indispensable "energy expressway". The project team staged a meticulous operation that could be called "underwater micro-carving": using high-precision three-dimensional modeling technology for precise navigation, conducting directional drilling at a depth of 25 meters under the sea, allowing the cable to move quietly like a flexible dragon, crawling beneath the coral reef bed. This process reduced the disturbance to the original seabed strata by more than 85%.

 

In the opinion of Zhejiang Zhongjing Cable, it clearly indicates that in large-scale marine engineering projects in the future, it will not be producers that stand firm, but integrated service providers that can provide "high-end materials - customized products - comprehensive laying solutions".
